It has been more than 10 years since gothic rock band All About Eve put out their last single, Some Finer Day. One may be lead to believe the group disbanded after their 1992 Ultraviolet release, but in fact nothing could be further from the truth. The two remaining original members- Julianne Regan and Andy Cousin- both went on to appear in other band-related projects. Julianne performed with indie band, Mice, then Schaft and The Volares whilst Andy joined The Mission, and then formed the band Tin Star and Bluemax, the latter of which was a joint effort with ex.Mission guitarist Mark G. Thwaite and featuring Julianne on a couple of tracks. The band currently comprises of Julianne Regan, Andy Cousin, Toni Haimi, (who replaced original band member Marty Willson-Piper) and new drummer Ben Savigear, who is the replacement for Del Hood.

Let Me Go Home is in fact their new single but for the die hard fans among us it was first recorded in 2002, but remained unreleased until their recent Cinemasonic live cd album and DVD, the latter of which is the band's first official live visual documentation.

All About Eve are indeed looking to hit the charts once again with this release but those of us expecting a follow up to Martha's Harbour may be in for a bit of a surprise. Throwing away the gentle, balladic qualities of that previous hit they now bestow upon us this powerful rocker! It is a great track that deserves airplay and this new definitive studio version is a true testament to the band!

The single is available as 2 separate releases and there are rumours that none of the tracks presented here will be made available on any forthcoming album.

CD 1 features three remixes of the title track; single edit, manuscript mix by Michael Uwins and an extended 999 mix by Huskianne although it has to be mentioned at this point that no kudos will be gained through guessing who Huskianne is! For a slight deviation to the theme, track two is a re-working of Aquamarina, originally recorded in 2003 but presented here as the Mesmerina Mix. At five and a half minutes this piece aims for the more atmospheric, laid-back side of things containing more of the somewhat trademarked husky voice of Julianne.

CD 2 simply contains 2 tracks. The first being the single edit of Let me Go Home and the second, 'Apart' is the All About Eve remix of UK band The Cure's original. This latter piece has a running time at just under 7 minutes and is a true classic re-working of an already great song.

In conclusion the tracks presented here should generate interest. Those who were a little disappointed with the slight change in direction of their last EP release, 'Iceland' will be more than pleased to see the band doing what they do best- classic goth rock of the highest order!
